Two Truths and a Lie

Practicing new vocabulary should not be a chore! There are lots of great ways to make it fun.

You can try different games and review activities with your students. One fun activity is called "Two Truths and a Lie." It's very easy and interactive, plus you can use it with any level and for any vocabulary!

For example, imagine you are working with food vocabulary. Create a list of sentences for the students to complete about themselves, like:
  • Some of my favorite desserts are...
  • When I am stressed, I sometimes eat...
  • When I want to celebrate, I eat...

Have your students give two true answers and one false answer. Everyone should complete the sentences, then you will take turns sharing your answers. Try to guess each other's false answers. Who does the best? You can keep score!

If you are working with just one student, this is still a great activity for reviewing vocabulary. You can both fill out the worksheet and guess each other's false answers.

Remember that you can make this activity a competition and that you can use it again and again for different vocabulary units. For more fun ideas, visit the vocabulary activities page.
