End product of this level: The students know the alphabet and additional spelling rules, well enough to read more advanced words (such as table, ball, receive, ice, night, black). They know all important punctuation signs: period, comma, question mark, exclamation point, colon, semicolon, hyphen, dashes. They know how to use capital letters. The know the basics of correct pronunciation.
